Laptop Hell Is Over
About a month ago I wrote about my laptop hell. My poor laptop had been giving me the blue screen of death and after about 10 hours on the phone with support, I gave up. I wrote on this very blog that I knew that there was something terribly wrong with my computer and wanted Dell to fix it. The next day I received a comment on my blog from a super nice guy that works at Dell telling me that he wanted to fix my problem. After a couple of weeks of delays, I sent my laptop to John at Dell and waited to hear the news. It turns out that my system is beyond repair. John completely started over, wiping out my programs (yes, I backed everything up before I sent it to him) and it still has major issues and the system is in need of a major overhaul. Good thing I got that extra year of warranty. Now the solution is to give me a new laptop with a memory upgrade and a video upgrade. I give up my AMD system for a dual Intel system. No big deal for me. I want to tell everyone that I am so overly impressed with Dell at this point. John has taken care of my laptop personally and has been sending me updates every day or so. They are offering to replace the laptop at no cost to me. I will tell you that I was frustrated with the tech support experience because it took hours on the phone to get nothing accomplished. I was thinking about another brand of computer the next time around but I have totally changed my mind. When I get my new laptop and all is working well, I will be so thrilled. And I will be singing the praises of Dell computers for many years to come. I still have my trusty old desktop that I have had for the last four years. Twin Geckos updated my system last year with a DVD player and more memory. But it is a Dell and it is working hard. So if you need a new computer, go to Dell. Make sure to get the warranty and remember the power of the blog is awesome. Thanks John and Dell.
It was my pleasure, Rose. I fought with it long enough, and so have you. I've got the new system on order, and you should have it by this time next week.
I'll let you know as soon as it goes into production.
Thank you for the kind words. You made me blush! :-)
